Alessandro Del Piero joins The Woolmark Company's campaign

The Woolmark Company’s Merino Wool. No Finer FeelingTM global fibre advocacy campaign is kicking goals across the world, signing international football star and world champion Alessandro Del Piero as its latest – and first sports-related - ambassador.

The Italian superstar, whose appreciation for fashion is stitched into his DNA, is continuing to strengthen the relationship between the Australian wool industry and the Italian fashion industry, highlighting the versatility of Merino wool and affirming the fibre’s position in the sportswear industry.

Del Piero visited Australia in August to officially launch his partnership with the global authority on wool against the backdrop of the iconic Sydney Opera House.

A series of photographs featuring Del Piero will be rolled out later this year as part of the Merino Wool. No Finer FeelingTM campaign.

The images - photographed by legendary Italian photographer Oliviero Toscani, who shot to fame in the late-1980s and early-1990s with his infamous and controversial United Colors of Benetton campaign - will help bridge the gap between premium fashion and high-performance activewear and feature Del Piero sporting apparel from Zegna Sport’s Techmerino collection.
