Peegaboo 2014

15 May 2014

The Woolmark Company exhibited at this year’s Peegaboo Baby Expo at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. The expo, which hosted more than 300 exhibitor booths and attracted more than 200,000 visitors, allowed The Woolmark Company to showcase Merino wool as the natural fibre of choice for parents and those who were expecting.

More than 2000 people visited the global authority on wool’s booth, and were able to experience first-hand the softness of the fibre and learn more about the natural, renewable and biodegradable fibre.

At Peegaboo, The Woolmark Company showcased its Mothers and Babies program – which validates and communicates the health and wellbeing benefits of wool. Market trends show a strong move towards healthy and environmentally friendly products, and wool’s natural attributes make it suitable as an integral part of every family’s health regime.

Beyond the fibre’s natural benefits that Merino wool products enjoy - such as natural body temperature regulation and breathability through moisture management - there is also much evidence to support the positive relationship between Merino wool and improved quality of sleep.

The Woolmark Company also hosted two workshops, where attendees were presented with the benefits of wool and how to care for your wool items. To complement this, an apparel care guide was also distributed to visitors, and new Woolmark Apparel Care licensee The Laundress also had product samples of their Woolmark-certified Wool & Cashmere Shampoo.

“The Peegaboo show was great,” said The Laundress senior brand executive Leila Poon. “The seminars given by The Woolmark Company were very informative and proved interesting for us to learn more about wool and the wool products.”

Hong Kong apparel brand and Woolmark licensee Chicks were also part of The Woolmark Company’s workshops, showcasing their Total Easy Care products.

“Over the past few years Chicks has co-operated with The Woolmark Company to promote machine washable apparel in the market,” said Chicks marketing manager Wing Fung. “It's a great opportunity to promote Chicks' products to the right audience and help consumers understand the product features and benefits.”
