The Roland Mouret Australian Merino Wool Collection

2 July 2014

Roland Mouret launches Australian Merino wool collection Available exclusively at Myer and at RolandMouret.com from 17 July, 2014.

Acclaimed fashion designer Roland Mouret has partnered with The Woolmark Company to develop an eight-piece ready-to-wear Australian Merino wool collection exclusively for Australian retailer Myer.

Fronted by one of Australia’s most respected fashion identities, Nicole Warne of GaryPepperGirl.com, the Roland Mouret Australian Merino wool collection is comprised of Mouret’s signature silhouettes including dresses, tops, TTD, trouser and skirt, utilizing his instinctive draping technique. The collection plays with the notion of colour therapy, providing a burst of energy with the use of colour blocking in bright blues, fluoro pinks, oranges and greens.

Roland Mouret, one of the most influential designers of the past decade, has inspired countless trends through his skilled and complex form of draping. The London-based French-born designer – who has created icons including the coveted Galaxy, Titanium and Moon dresses - will be visiting Australia to launch the Woolmark-certified capsule collection at Myer Sydney and Melbourne stores. Whilst in Sydney, Mouret will also sit on the judging panel for the prestigious 2014/15 International Woolmark Prize Australia regional final, offering valuable insight and guidance to emerging Australian designers.

“I have always loved working with Australian Merino wool because it has an amazing quality that allows it to drape and hang beautifully. The capsule collection, for me, was about how to introduce wool to the red carpet and to every day life. It’s about brightness, it’s about colour therapy, and it’s about shaping the body. Working with The Woolmark Company and Myer was a very organic process and an incredible pleasure. I am looking forward to visiting Australia for the first time to launch the collection with Myer, as well as to judge the International Woolmark Prize. The lifestyle and creativity emerging from Australia is inspiring and continues to push boundaries, and I am happy to be a part of it in my own way.” – Roland Mouret

“Roland Mouret is an iconic designer widely heralded by the global fashion industry,” explains The Woolmark Company Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer Rob Langtry. “His craftsmanship and innovation in design allows him to beautifully showcase the versatility of Merino wool, presented exclusively by Myer for Australian consumers.”

“We are delighted that Myer is the exclusive stockist of this stunning Roland Mouret eight piece collection made from Australian Merino wool,” says Nicole Naccarella, Myer Group General Manager Womenswear. “I know our customers will absolutely love the styles and the incredibly vibrant colours. We are equally thrilled that Roland will be travelling to Australia for the first time in July and look forward to hosting him in our Myer Sydney and Melbourne stores.”

The Roland Mouret Australian Merino wool collection will be available exclusively at Myer Sydney and Melbourne stores from 17 July 2014, and globally on the Roland Mouret digital flagship, www.RolandMouret.com.
