Wool fashion and furnishings a highlight at Première Vision

12 September 2016

The Woolmark Company returns to Première Vision, Paris, September 13 to 15, showcasing the latest edition of The Wool Lab and highlighting the versatility of wool as the premier ingredient in luxury apparel and home furnishings.

The Woolmark Company can be found at Hall 6, stand 6H50 6J51.

France remains the single most influential flagship market for women's apparel and is a world leader in fashion. It is also a major player in the textile industry with cutting-edge expertise in a variety of technical fields. Since 2010 The Woolmark Company has re-established its presence in France through media campaigns and collaborations, to coincide with the premium natural fibre enjoying a renaissance.

"France continues to remain a major market for presenting innovative fabrics to the global wool community," explains The Woolmark Company Managing Director Stuart McCullough. "We not only seize the opportunity at Première Vision to showcase the world's best wool fabrics to leading designers and brands, but to also showcase our predicted trends for next season, via our sourcing guide The Wool Lab."

Making its Première Vision debut, The Wool Lab Sport will showcase a collection of the world's most inspiring and technically advanced wool yarns suitable for activewear. Extensive research has been undertaken by The Woolmark Company's global network to develop two themes, suitable for all seasons, dedicated entirely to sportswear to inspire and influence trends: Sport Active - presents the most technically performing wool fabrics and yarns, mixed with technical fibres, to ensure the best results during physical activity; Sport Stylish - expresses the role of Merino wool as a fundamental element to the classic wardrobe of the most refined and exclusive sports such as golf, horse riding, sailing and polo.

Complementing The Wool Lab Sport will be the traditional apparel version of The Wool Lab, dedicated to the upcoming Autumn/Winter 2017/18 season. The latest edition of The Wool Lab dedicates three out seven themes to a style that is suitable for both womenswear and menswear, highlighting the continuation in the rise of androgynous dressing. For the first time The Wool Lab dedicates a theme to homeware products and interior textiles, as wool fabrics continue to become increasingly popular outside of traditional men's tailoring.

Looking to Spring/Summer 18, The Woolmark company will host a free seminar for the trade on September 14 at 5pm in Room 516B. Titled 'Merino Pushing Boundaries Spring/Summer 18', participants will receive expert insights into the upcoming SS season. Contact rsvp-france@wool.com to reserve your place now.

The Woolmark Company's new-look stand at Première Vision will be stylishly decorated with premium wool furnishings and interior textiles. Partnering with notable French houses, visitors will experience the innovative uses of wool for interior design from brands including Bosc, Ligne Roset, Cinna, Maison Leon and Whole.

Visitors to The Woolmark Company's stand will also be treated to a unique trip to Australia, thanks to virtual reality headsets, transporting them to a woolgrowing property to discover more about Merino wool and its natural environment.
