Weekly Wool Prices

Week Ending 26 August (Week 8)

25 August 2016

Results from this weeks’ Australian wool auction sales probably pleases all participants. A good result for growers given Australian dollar (AUD) prices in general gained a good 10 to 15ac/clean kg, whilst for buyers paying in US dollars (USD), Chinese Yuan Renminbi (CNY) or Euro, a slightly cheaper buy-in price became available. All wool types were dearer to varying degrees, but it was mainly the Merino and Crossbred fleece sectors that took the indicators higher. The EMI (Eastern Market Indicator) gained 11ac over the week to close almost 1% higher at 1309ac/clean kg.
