Weekly Wool Prices

Week Ending 26 February (Week 35)

26 February 2016

Australian Wool auctions suffered this week from a moderate, at best, interest from most buyers. A stronger AUD against the USD provided the catalyst for a price weakening and the additional volume added provided by sellers allowed a very circumspect approach to purchasing by the exporters. The EMI (Eastern Market Indicator) fell by 17ac clean kg to conclude the week at 1268ac/clean kg, a price that is 180ac/clean kg or 16.5% higher than last season at the same time. The EMI when expressed in USD lost last weeks 9usc/kg gain to retreat back to 910usc/clean kg.
