Weekly Wool Prices

Week Ending 3 June (Week 49)

3 June 2016

Australian wool auction markets produced generally unchanged results on average again this week, but between the type categories, differing trends emerged.  Significant moves upwards of 25ac/clean kg  were seen amongst most of the carding types and crossbred descriptions broader than 29 micron. After not selling last week, the Fremantle centre struggled to match the Eastern markets and closed generally 10ac lower than both Melbourne and Sydney. The EMI (Eastern Market Indicator) lost a single cent for the week to close at  1296ac/clean kg.  The EMI expressed in USD managed a 2usc gain though to 938usc.
