Weekly Wool Prices

Week Ending 4 March (Week 36)

4 March 2016

Australian Wool auctions continued on the same path this week as a further strengthening of our AUD against all major currencies stymied the local price levels, but not to any great degree. In fact most operators were taken by some surprise as to the resistance being displayed by the market to not fall away substantially or at least in line with the currency. As a result, just  5 to 10ac/clean kg was taken from most of the types on offer. The EMI (Eastern Market Indicator) fell by 10ac clean kg to conclude the week at 1258ac/clean kg.
