Weekly Wool Prices

Week Ending 9 October (Week 15)

9 October 2015

Another soft result at the Australian Wool Auction markets this week, with prices in most sections continuing to weaken. Only the best superfine (finer than 18.5 micron) Merino fleece types remained unaffected, and even managed to put on some good advances in levels of 20 to 30ac/clean on the final day of selling. The EMI (Eastern Market Indicator) slipped a further 22ac/clean kg to conclude the series at 1195ac/clean kg. This time last year, a ruling EMI of 1051ac/clean kg was in play, which was 14% lower than now.
