Weekly Wool Prices

Week Ending December 05 (Week 23)

5 December 2014

Australian wool auction markets continued to deliver very mixed results for wool growers this week under large volumes hitting the market. A quick glance at the EMI (Eastern Market Indicator) drifting downwards by just 2ac clean/kg to close the series out at  1054 ac clean/kg is quite misleading, as prices fluctuated significantly greater between types. Merino fleece and skirtings basically floundered and lost ground whilst the Crossbred and carding sectors had a good week, with some strong gains.
