Weekly Wool Prices

Week Ending February 21 (week 34)

21 February 2014

Tough selling conditions continued early in this week’s Australian wool markets. The three week downturn in auction price levels initially maintained the weakening trend, and by mid-week, a further 25 to 30acents clean/kg had been eliminated from the sellers’ returns for most types on offer. An encouraging sign late on Wednesday raised the hopes of a turnaround in the fortunes of the market, with the Western Australian market selling at levels above that of both Melbourne and Sydney, which is not a common outcome.
