Weekly Wool Prices

Week Ending February 7 (week 32)

7 February 2014

The Australian wool market reacted in a generally negative manner this week to the higher dollar and larger volumes available, with the Merino sector being mostly affected. Despite the obvious reaction to a higher dollar and more wool for sale, the significant lack of fresh business by our exporting companies in recent weeks has created the environment of apprehension at auction. This lack of activity may be in part due to the current holiday period in China, as strong demand was very evident on the better types bound for European destinations.
