BYBORRE innovates to realise performance benefits of wool

The BYBORRE approach is always a layered one, starting with the design, materials and engineering of their multi-layered fabrics.

Amsterdam-based textile innovation studio BYBORRE works on the frontiers of material development, functionality and aesthetics to constantly innovate with engineered knits, pushing the limits of technical performance textiles.

Designing from the yarn up allows BYBORRE to discover new possibilities and each Edition, released seasonally, builds on the innovations of the last. By utilising emerging design processes, textile technologies and performance fibres, the fabrics BYBORRE produces for its Fundamentals and Experimentals ranges reveal new technical performance benefits.

Merino wool has been used in tandem with GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ product technology on select styles in BYBORRE’s The Layered Edition™ to combine the best of all three material worlds.

BYBORRE’s newest collection, The Layered Edition™, is no exception with an unprecedented degree of technical layering achieved through its partnership with The Woolmark Company and the GORE-TEX brand.

Through this partnership, BYBORRE has reached a new technical summit with its high-performance capsule collection utilising the material functionality of the Merino wool fibre.

Exceptional breathability, odour resistance and colour dye absorption, Merino wool – the original performance fibre – shines with BYBORRE’s modern engineering.
In the latest BYBORRE Edition, the Fundamentals garment range has been refined and for the first time, luxurious Merino wool variations of all of the signature fabrics have been realised, exploiting Merino wool’s inherent properties to further push the performance functionality of the garments.

Whilst the Fundamentals range has been refined, the essence of BYBORRE’s Experimentals range has risen to a new league.

Exceptional breathability, odour resistance and colour dye absorption, Merino wool – the ancient performance fibre – shines with BYBORRE’s modern engineering.

As part of The Layered Edition™ Experimentals key pieces were rendered in Merino wool, standing out due to the intense deep blue colour used in the Merino wool fabric. This uniformity is a clear statement and stark contrast against the colour explorations BYBORRE does elsewhere in this Edition.

The Hybrid concept, engineered with both Merino wool and GORE-TEX product technology works to achieve the best of all three material worlds. Merino wool has been used in tandem with GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ product technology on select styles to combine the best of all three material worlds. The garments have evolved to suit a colder climate and pieces have been designed to layer, utilising Merino wool’s superior temperature control functionality.

The Layered Edition™ has been displayed at Paris Men’s Fashion Week.
