The Woolmark Wool Care program seeks to provide consumers with the very best technologies for the care and laundering of their wool products.
For licensees, the Woolmark logo may be applied to either horizontal or vertical axis washing machines, tumble dryers, or washer dryers where the wool cycle meets the specifications for that product type.
The program has a tiered system of endorsement branding for machines to distinguish those appliances that care for wool products with differing requirements. Washing machines and tumble dryers requiring higher levels of care can be suitably endorsed to premium tiers, including Blue for approved wash and/or dry cycles associated with hand wash garments, and Green for approved wash/or dry cycles suitable for hand wash garments that also meet certain requirements related to energy and/or water use.
Wool Care Black logo refers to Woolmark certified wool washing and wool drying cycle for machine washable wool garments. It also applies to detergents, softeners, bleaches or insect repellent/moth proofing agents.
Wool Care Blue logo refers to Woolmark certified wool washing and wool drying cycle for handwashable wool garments.
Wool Care Green logo refers to Woolmark certified wool washing cycle for handwashable wool garments. The washing cycle is tested to ensure its energy and water efficiency.
Wool Care Green logo refers to Woolmark certified wool drying cycle for hand washable wool garments. The drying cycle is tested to ensure its highest energy efficiency in the world, 0.9kWh/kg or less electricity consumption.
The Woolmark logo may also be applied to product packaging of detergents, softeners, bleaches or insect repellent/moth proofing agents in any format suitable for domestic purposes, where the product meets the relevant specification.
